Do you need a way to connect with and educate young people in your area about water quality and the environment? E.A.R.T.H. is an innovative, research-based, classroom environmental education program for middle and high school students. Implementing this program is an easy way to get multiple agencies together to collaborate on an environmental education program. E.A.R.T.H. has already been created, tested, and is currently successful in 13 counties. Now it is ready to be put into action in your watershed! The program coordinator for E.A.R.T.H. will provide technical support to interested Kansas WRAPS groups who would like to start an E.A.R.T.H. program.
E.A.R.T.H. is a school-based environmental education program designed to support teachers with training, curriculum resources, and activity supplies. There is a culminating Student Workshop in the spring of each school year. Students who take part in E.A.R.T.H. will increase awareness and knowledge of environmental concepts such as watersheds, groundwater, soil conservation, air quality, pollution hazards, and the value of living resources.
E.A.R.T.H.’s hands-on approach to learning gives students a greater ability to retain and apply what they learn. Student interaction with the natural world connects and creates value for Kansas resources. Soon these adolescents will be the policy makers, business persons, farmers, and scientists whose job it is to deal with environmental concerns. The E.A.R.T.H. program is a unique educational approach which promotes prevention and awareness for our youth as a way of protecting Kansas natural resources for future generations.
Education E.A.R.T.H. is a school-based environmental education program for middle or high school students. E.A.R.T.H. can be easily implemented and managed by a WRAPS group who desires to accomplish youth education goals.
